Who We Are

Dan developed a love for cars at a very young age working on classic British sports cars with his Dad. After discovering reruns of The Dukes Of Hazzard, Dan's focus shifted to classic muscle cars and NASCAR racing. With the help of some good friends, Dan built his first racecar at 17 and campaigned it successfully at the local short track, Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, New Hampshire. 

When it came time to focus on a career path the choice was clear: Mechanical Engineering. Dan studied Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. In college, Dan discovered the Baja SAE competition series wherein teams of college engineering students design, build, and compete in off-road race cars. Spending nearly all of his spare time working with the team, Dan graduated as team captain in 2012 having helped set new team records for competition performance.

Dan graduated from Northeastern in 2012 with his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, Dan moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to pursue a full-time career in Motorsports. After working for both Stewart-Haas racing and NASCAR's R&D facility, Dan transitioned out of Motorsports and into the world of product development. Dan currently works in product research, design, and development of mechanics tools for a leading tool company.

Dan enjoys restoring and maintaining a small fleet of vehicles during his spare time including a 1969 Dodge Charger, 1970 Ford F-250, 1988 BMW 325, and 2004 Mini Cooper S.

The founding of Next Gen Designs combines Dan's professional skill set with his lifelong passion for cars and engineering.
